Ratings explained?

 

A rating allows you to compare your performance against other tennis players in Britain. Ratings also allow tournament organisers to match players of a comparable standard ensuring matches are fun and fair.

 

To increase your rating you need to be consistently beating players at the same or higher rating.

 

DIVISION	RATINGS	YOUR PLAYING LEVEL
DIVISION 1	1.1 1.2	World ranked, national standard and top division county players. (1.1 - 3.1)
DIVISOIN 2	2.1 2.2
DIVISION 3	3.1 3.2	Top and middle division county players. (3.2 - 4.2)
DIVISION 4	4.1 4.2
DIVISION 5	5.1 5.2	Lower division county players and top club team.
DIVISION 6	6.1 6.2	Middle club team players.
DIVISION 7	7.1 7.2	Lower club team players
DIVISION 8	8.1 8.2	Players competing regularly in singles and/or doubles (8.1 - 9.1)
DIVISION 9	9.1 9.2
DIVISION 10	10.1 10.2	Players who are new to competitive tennis, either adults or juniors. (9.2 - 10.2

 

To apply for a rating you must be aged 10 years or older by the 31st December of the year that you apply.
