Tennnis year round at Storrington LTC
(September 25, 2007)Tennis coaching at Storrington LTC will continue all-year round this year. Coaches in the past at Storrington have stopped coaching from the end of October through to March, some 5 months! From now on Head Coach Nigel Matthews plans to continue with a full club programme through the winter months. He commented, "I've never heard of a club simply stopping completely through the winter, it makes no sense".
The West Sussex club is well equipped with five floodlit courts and all-weather surfaces. Nigel continued, "After a good improvement in the standard of play throughout the junior section thus far, it would be ashame for them to not pick up a racket for 5 months and start again in April". Nigel believes that the continuation of tennis coaching and matchplay throughout the winter will mean a dramatic improvement come next summer and the tournament season.
